Microsoft iSCSI Target 3.3 für Windows Server 2008 R2

Die bisher nur im Windows
Storage Server 2008 R2 enthaltene iSCSI Target Komponente wurde gestern all
öffentlicher Download für „normale“ Windows Server 2008 R2 freigegeben. Der
Download ist bereits über die Seite http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=45105d7f-8c6c-4666-a305-c8189062a0d0
verfügbar. Diese Komponente ist für das Einbinden von Block Storage (SAN) in
Failover Clustern vor allem in Kombination mit Virtualisierung sehr wichtig.

Windows Phone 7 NoDo Update

Ich habe nun eine ganz legale Möglichkeit gefunden, wie wir unsere Windows Phone 7 Devices vom Februar Update (Build 7008) auf den März Update aka NoDo (Build 7390) aktualisieren könnt – ganz ohne Hacks über einen Ungarischen VPN oder Tools, die eine Provider-Kennung aus dem Telefon entfernen J.

Hier meine Anleitung:

Einstellungen: Telefon aktivieren (Flugmodus ausschalten)
Einstellungen: Datenverbindung aktivieren
Einstellungen: Telefon Updates Überprüfung über Datenverbindung erlauben
WP7 mit dem PC über USB Kabel verbinden, Zune Software startet
Zune Software: Einstellungen: Updates auswählen
Unmittelbar danach die Netzwerkverbindung Eures PCs trennen (WLAN, LAN) è die Zune Software kann keinen Operater Check durchführen, das WP7 prüft nur über Windows Update è voila!
Die Überprüfung auf einen Update dauert nun ein wenig länger, weil die Netzwerkverbindung des PCs in ein Timeout läuft. Am Device und daher auch in der Zune Software erscheint die Meldung, dass das März Update für Euer WP7 verfügbar ist.
Jetzt kann die Netzwerkverbindung des PCs wieder angeschlossen/aktiviert werden, damit der Update nicht über die Datenverbindung des Telefons geladen wird
Wenn genügend freier Speicher am WP7 und auch am PC (für das Backup: Schritt 7 nach WP7 Reboot) vorhanden ist, dann läuft der Update einwandfrei durch (dauert eine ganze Weile – bei mir insgesamt ca. 1 h).

Viel Spaß mit Copy&Paste, einem stabilerem Marketplace, Anzeige der eigenen MAC Adresse bei den Details zum WP7 (für WLAN APs)…!

MBAM 1.0 Beta

Hallo,

heute wurde auch auf der Optimized Desktop Front (irgendwie zählt ja auch der SCCM 2012 mit der Beta 2 Verfügbarkeit dazu) im MDOP Bereich eine Ankündigung gemacht – die MBAM 1.0 Beta („Malta“) ist ab sofort über das Connect Portal verfügbar (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=208999).

aufgrund der immer mehr werdenden internationalen Anfragen haben
uns entschieden, das Systemcenter / Forefrontblog unter neunen Domains für Sie bereit
zu stellen.

Die Umstellung wird in Kürze erfolgen und wir sind dann
unter den URLs „systemcenterblog.eu“ und „forefrontblog.eu“ erreichbar. Die

Ab sofort steht über das Connect Portal die SCVMM 2008 R2 SSP 2.0 SP1 Beta zur Verfügung (siehe Blog Eintrag).

The System Center Team is pleased to announce the Beta of the System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2 Self Service Portal 2.0 SP1 (SCVMM 2008 R2 SSP 2.0 SP1). This public Beta is available through Connect. The VMMSSP 2.0 SP1 Beta allows an organization to abstract physical resources and assign these services quickly and efficiently.

What’s new with VMMSSP 2.0 SP1?

· Import virtual machines: Allows DCIT (Datacenter) administrators to re-import virtual machines that were removed from the self-service portal and also import virtual machines created outside the portal but managed by VMM.

· Expire virtual machines: This feature provides the user the ability to set an expiration date for the virtual machines that are being created or imported so that the virtual machines auto-delete after the set date. This feature also provides users the flexibility (through role-based access) to set or change the expiration date for the virtual machine.

· Notify administrators: This feature provides functionality to notify BUIT(Business Unit) or DCIT(Datacenter) administrators about various events in the system (for example, Submit request, Approve request,Expire virtual machine, and so on) via email through SQL server mail integration.

· Move infrastructure between business units: This feature allows DCIT(Datacenter) administrators to move an infrastructure from one business unit to another when the system is in Maintenance Mode.

SCDPM 2010 Hotfix Rollup Package released

Ende letzter Woche wurde das SCDPM 2010 RU2 für den März 2011 mit dem KB Artikel 2465832 veröffentlicht. Die Downloads der Komponenten sind über die Seite http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=d3fabb18-1adb-4c87-a95d-d3c3826d5bfb&displaylang=en möglich.

Overview

This rollup resolves the following issues:

· When you change the ports that are used by the Data Protection Manager 2010 Remote Access service, recovery jobs may fail.

· On some client computers, the System volume runs out of space when local shadow copies are created and when the shadow copy storage is set to UNBOUNDED.

· When you try to protect more than 1,000 client computers from one Data Protection Manager 2010 server, you receive a warning that you cannot protect more than 1,000 client computers by using Data Protection Manager 2010, even though Data Protection Manager 2010 can protect up to 3,000 client computers.

· When you try to protect more than 1,000 client datasources from one Data Protection Manager 2010 server, you receive a warning that you cannot protect more than 1,000 datasources by using Data Protection Manager 2010, even though Data Protection Manager 2010 can protect up to 3,000 client datasources.

· Data Protection Manager 2010 does not support the IBM System Storage® TS2900 Tape Autoloader backup, recovery or detailed inventory operations. The tape is left behind in the drive after any of these operations.

· When you use Data Protection Manager 2010 Replication Agent to protect a 1.2 terabyte SQL server that has approximately 200 .ndf secondary data files, Data Protection Manager 2010 Replication Agent crashes.

· If you are not the administrator on a client computer, you cannot perform an end-user-recovery of protected data on the client computer.

· When there are many client computers trigger client back up or client recovery operations, corresponding jobs are not triggered on the Data Protection Manager 2010 server. When the Data Protection Manager 2010 server enters this state, any later client back up or client recovery operations are not triggered on the Data Protection Manager 2010 server.

· Data Protection Manager 2010 experiences slower performance if you try to protect more than 300 client datasources on a secondary Data Protection Manager 2010 server.

· Data Protection Manager 2010 does not keep a recovery point for a client datasouce that was not synchronized during the retention period.

· If there are many list items within of a SharePoint List in a SharePoint Content Database, then the generation of a SharePoint Item level catalog will fail continuously for the SharePoint Content Database.
